Garmin Vivomove – A Stylish Watch With Built-in Fitness Tracking.
After introducing the Vivoactive HR at the end of February, Garmin has returned with a new wearable device, the Vivomove. A stylish fitness tracker that looks just like a traditional watch.
The Vivomove is not the first activity tracker disguised as an everyday analogue watch, but that’s all right. Classic looking like smartwatches that can count steps as well seems to be the form factor in the next fitness trackers evolutive step.
The company’s new tracker combines fashion and fitness in a gorgeous package. Here is everything you need to know about the new Garmin Vivomove.
Garmin Vivomove – Design And Features
The Garmin Vivomove is a fashionable fitness tracker offered in a variety of models. The Vivomove Sport is the standard model and features a silicone band. The other model, the Classic one, comes with a leather strap rather than a silicon one. There is also on offer a third model called “The Premium” which has a steel body and a leather strap.
But, if you don’t like the official bracelets, I have some good news for you. The Garmin Vivomove comes with an interchangeable strap mechanism that lets you exchange the default ones for any 20mm band on the market.
Another cool feature of the Vivomove is its watch face. Besides the indices and hands on the watch face, the Garmin Vivomove has two bars. The white bar on the left tracks the steps you take during the day while the red bar on the right fills up red if you don’t move.
The Garmin Vivomove is powered by a replaceable coin cell battery, which means it will last you for a year or more. And, just like most devices made by Garmin, the Vivomove is waterproof for up to 50 metres, so you can shower but also swim with it. As a downside, there is no heart rate sensor, which is a slight disappointment.
Also, as it is the case with all Garmin trackers, the data is synced to the Garmin Connect Mobile app and from there you can access and work with all your detailed stats, along with tips and meaningful insights.
Garmin Vivomove – Price And Availability
The Vivomove Sport will cost you $149.99, the Classic $199.99 while the premium edition will make your wallet $299.99 lighter. You can add the additional silicone sports bands for $29.99 and leather ones at $59.99.
In the U.K., the price for Garmin Vivomove starts at £139.99 for the Sports edition and £239.99 for the Premium one. The watch is going to start shipping at the end of May and given the pleasant experiences we always had with Garmin products; we are very much looking forward to getting our hands on it.
