Iris Van Herpen Syntopia Collection 2018. Iris van Herpen is a Dutch fashion designer recognised as one of the most innovative designers of the 21st century. Hailed as a pioneer of 3D printing in fashion, van Herpen’s “new couture”, as she calls her style, employs distinct forms and methods of sartorial expression.

The Dutch designer combines fashion technology with traditional couture craftsmanship. Her impressive luxury fashion creations blend heritage with innovative materials. van Herpen’s garments are unique aesthetic visions of the future, where biology, physics, and AI algorithms are seamlessly merged to push the boundaries of fashion design.

van Herpen’s interest in multidisciplinary procedures – that go beyond fashion – lead to various collaboration with Lonneke Gordijn, Neri Oxman, Ralph Nauta, Philip Beesley, Benthem and even CERN and MIT. These interactions have eventually evolved into van Herpen’s 2018 collection, Syntopia – “Biology merging with technology.”
