CASIO Smartwatch Revealed With 30 Days Battery And Android Wear.
Android Wear is no longer just for big tech brands like Samsung or Apple. More mechanical and digital watchmaking makers are using the Google OS to force their way into the smartwatch landscape as well.
The latest to enter the stage is CASIO, with its WSD-F10 smartwatch. It is not the catchiest name but still, the watch does a good job of differentiating itself from the competition.
The CASIO smartwatch is offering two most wanted features — a solid body, and a long-lasting battery life.
CASIO Smartwatch WSD-F10 Design And Features
CASIO Smartwatch is the first true wearable device aimed at the outdoors. It is waterproof and shockproof according to US military MIL-STD-810 standards. That means the watch does not have any problems with water up to 50 m deep and also, will survive a tumble down a rocky outcrop.
On the case, you’ll find three buttons. One on the side, for the power, and the other two for activating the app on your phone or swipe through the data from the F10’s sensor array. The watch face looks fabulous. It has a military design that suits the build of the watch quite well.
If you are wondering about the sensors, the watch features a compass, an air pressure, an accelerometer and an altitude readout. More than that, you’ll get general activity data and even information on tides and sunrise times. Thanks to the CASIO phone app, you can create alerts for your ideal weather conditions.
As a downside, the CASIO WSD-F10 watch lacks GPS and the H.R. sensor. That means the CASIO smartwatch needs a phone to know your geo-location. However, the GPS on most Android Wear watches come at a great cost. Poor battery life, which just happens to be the strongest point of the CASIO smartwatch.

The CASIO smartwatch features two screens, a colour LCD that’s almost round, and a second monochrome LCD. You can activate the second screen with the “Timepiece” function, and the watch stops all the smart features, leaving just a nice retro digital watch face. By doing so, the 24 hours of battery life estimated with Android Wear turns into 30 days of use. A brilliant idea.
CASIO Smartwatch WSD-F10 Price And Release Date
Now this could be the worse part. You’ll have to dig deep into your pockets to buy one. The CASIO smartwatch is going to cost you $500. That is more than almost all Android Wear smartwatches, except for TAG Heuer’s watch, and some of the high-end Huawei Watch models.
If you are fine with the price, and you are an active person, trust me, you’ll love the new CASIO smartwatch. As a release date, the watch is going on sale in April in the U.S., followed by the U.K. just a few weeks later.
